Water and fertilizer management in the city that never sleeps

Watering tips for the city that never sleeps

Watering principles

As an ornamental aloe, the City That Never Sleeps is drought-resistant like all aloes. It also needs moisture, but is most afraid of stagnant water. In rainy and humid seasons or in conditions of poor drainage, it is easy for the leaves to shrink, the branches and roots to rot, and even die.

Therefore, the city that never sleeps should be watered according to the principle of "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you water." Avoid root rot caused by stagnant water.

How to water

In midsummer, the temperature is high and the evaporation is large. The plant is under strong sunlight all day long and needs to be watered. Just keep it slightly moist and spray water on the leaves frequently.

After autumn, gradually reduce watering and make sure the soil is loose.

If the temperature is not lower than 10℃ in winter, you can water it normally. If the temperature cannot be maintained at 10℃, you should control watering to make the plant hibernate. Generally speaking, keep the soil in the pot slightly dry.

Fertilization tips for the city that never sleeps

Fertilization principles

The City That Never Sleeps has strong adaptability and usually does not need fertilizer. If fertilizer is required, it should be applied in small amounts and frequently.

Fertilizer is indispensable for any plant. To ensure that the Everbright Aloe is a green and natural plant, try to use fermented organic fertilizers, such as cake fertilizer, chicken manure, and compost. Earthworm manure is more suitable for growing Everbright Aloe.

How to fertilize

During the growing period of the Everbright City, you can apply 2-3 times of decomposed thin liquid fertilizer or rice water.

It is not advisable to apply fertilizer during the dog days to avoid root rot.

If the temperature is too low in winter, stop fertilizing.
