How to cut and graft the stems of Zi Chi Nian Hua

How to cut and graft the stems of Zi Chi Nian Hua

Beheading method

Beheading time

Pruning is not only necessary when the plant is growing too tall. It can be done when the plant has grown many side buds and split heads. Generally, side bud division is carried out in spring and autumn, which has a higher survival rate.

Soil selection

Succulents have relatively high requirements for soil, so choose peat soil plus perlite. In order to prevent the bottom of the plant from rotting due to contact with moist soil, and to make it more breathable, you can spread a layer of clean river sand on the soil surface. Don't make it too coarse, with a size of 3 to 5 mm.

Cutting and grafting

When the stalk grows to a certain size, you can cut it directly with a sharp knife to reduce the incision area. After beheading, place the small head in a cool place for a while, and then insert it shallowly into the soil. Succulents are easy to survive and do not need to be inserted very deep. Just make contact with the soil, water it enough, and place it in semi-shade.

Maintenance

Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, and do not water if it is not dry. Because spring and autumn are the growing seasons for Ziji, it will take 5 to 10 days to take root and then can be maintained normally. The plant will not hibernate in summer. Pay attention to ventilation and shading, and increase the watering frequency appropriately, watering 4 to 5 times a month. In winter, when the temperature drops to 5 ℃, you should gradually stop watering. When it reaches 3 ℃, make sure the soil in the pot is dry and try to control the temperature not lower than 3 ℃.

It is also important to note that when watering, do not pour water directly on the leaves, as this will affect the appearance. Instead, pour water directly into the soil.

Leaf cutting method

Cutting time

The seedlings are easy to maintain and have a high survival rate of cuttings. When the small seedlings grow 5 to 6 leaves, they can be cut directly from the mother plant and placed on the soil.

Flower Pot Selection

The radish is very suitable for wide-mouthed shallow flowerpots. Sufficient space is conducive to its reproduction, and the root rot will not be caused by water accumulation. You should know that the roots of the spathiphyllum are very thin, so using a flowerpot like a shallow bowl, and the air permeability of red potting soil, makes the soil less important.

Cuttings

Cut off the leaves of the lotus and place them directly on the soil, or cover the bottom of the lotus with soil. You can spray the soil surface without hanging water, and it will take root soon.
