How to water Michelia

What water to use

It is best to use soft water without minerals for watering flowers. Rainwater is the most ideal water, containing neither minerals nor sufficient air. Pool water, river water, lake water also contains more air quality and has better water quality. It is water taken directly from nature and can be used as long as it is not polluted. As for well water and tap water, because they contain less oxygen (well water has a lower temperature), they should be placed in a container and allowed to stand for a while before use.

Watering frequency

After moving Michelia outdoors, place it in a shaded place for maintenance. Water it thoroughly once, and then water it again after the soil in the pot becomes dry.

From April to June , the temperature rises, the plant's growth resumes, it blooms and sprouts. At this time, the frequency of watering should be gradually increased from once every 1-2 days to once a day. And spray water before noon every day to ensure that the environment around the plants is moist and to lower the temperature.

From July to August , the weather is relatively hot, so you must water the plants every day and spray them 1 to 2 times a day.

From September to October , the weather gradually turns cooler, evaporation decreases, and watering should be gradually reduced. The frequency of watering should be determined according to weather conditions. When the weather is clear, water once every 1 to 2 days. When the weather is dark and humid, water once every 3 to 4 days.

Precautions

If water accumulates in the pot when watering, it should be poured out immediately to avoid causing the plant to wither and die. Before each watering, you should check the moisture of the potting soil. If the potting soil is too wet, you can postpone watering.

If the plant has not been watered for a long time, the soil in the pot will separate from the wall of the pot. At this time, do not water it too much at one time. You can first pour in a small amount of water, and then continue watering after the soil in the pot absorbs and expands.

The water temperature for watering should also be controlled and cold water should never be used for watering flowers. After watering with cold water with a huge temperature difference, the temperature of the potting soil will drop suddenly, which will stimulate the root system of the plant and weaken its activity, causing "physiological drought". The plants may wither at best and die at worst.
