Will lilies die after a few years of growth? Will lilies die after they wither?

1. It will die after a few years of keeping

Lily is a perennial bulbous plant. It will not die after one year of care. As long as you pay attention to the maintenance method, it can be maintained for many years. Basically, if it is maintained at home, it will have no problem living for three to five years. If you control the suitable growth environment, its lifespan can be as long as 20 to 30 years. Therefore, under normal maintenance, there is no need to worry about its lifespan. However, during the high temperature period in summer every year, lilies will enter a dormant period. This does not mean death, but they need careful care. If they are not maintained well, they may die.

If the fresh cut lilies are maintained in water, their survival time will be relatively short, about a week or so, and at most two weeks. In order to extend the time, you can add preservatives to the water, or you can add aspirin, vitamin C, etc.

2. Will the flower die after it withers?

Lilies do not die after their flowers fade. After the flowers fade, the branches and leaves also begin to wither, making them look like they are dead, but they are not actually dead. After the flowers wither, you can first cut off the remaining flowers to avoid wasting excess nutrients, and then cut off the withered branches and leaves. They will sprout and grow again next year and will bloom again.
