How to water gardenia

What to water

First of all, you need to be clear about the type of water you use. Rainwater is best, but if there is no rain, use tap water. You can add a little vinegar or citric acid when watering to increase the acidity of the soil. The water temperature must also be strictly controlled when watering, and it should be close to room temperature. Do not use very cold water or hot water. Leave it for a while before using it to allow the temperature to be close to room temperature before using it.

Exclusive formula

Citric acid: Add 0.5 grams of citric acid to one liter of water.

Edible vinegar: 3 ml of vinegar per liter of water.

Orange peel: Soak fresh orange peel in water. You can use it when the water turns slightly yellow.

Rice washing water: The water used after washing rice at home is fermented and used. But don't use rice water often, once a month is enough.

Anyone can have more, but not too much acidic solution. If you don't know the amount, you can use a mineral water bottle to measure water, and use the bottle cap to measure the acidic solution. A Coke bottle cap can hold 4 grams of solution. Just compare them.

When to water

Watering should be done at noon in winter, and it is best if the water is exposed to sunlight and the water temperature is suitable. Water in the morning in spring and summer and expose to the sun after watering.

Watering method

In spring and summer, water the plants normally in the morning. When the temperature is high, spray water on the leaves after the sun sets, which is when we get home from get off work. When spraying water, pay attention to the larger flow rate of the nozzle, do not spray mist or spray on opened flowers, and pay attention to ventilation after spraying water.

From April to September , water when the soil is dry and do not water every day to avoid yellowing of the plants and causing yellow leaves. The weather is dry in July and August , water evaporates quickly, and the soil is easy to dry out. Depending on the soil conditions, you can water it every day.

The next day after watering, loosen the soil appropriately according to the soil conditions. If the soil is still very wet after watering for a few days, ventilate more and pay attention to the proportion of the soil when repotting next year.

Precautions

If the clay soil is difficult to water thoroughly, you can water it slowly with a sprinkler, or use a bottle to water it a little every 1 to 2 minutes until the water seeps out naturally. Or you can use the immersion pot method, place the plant in the pot and let the water flow in naturally. However, it is not recommended to use the pot immersion method for a long time, as it will cause the plants to lack oxygen and the salt and alkali in the pot to rise, making the flowers susceptible to waterlogging and the entire plant die.
