How to use fertilizer for money tree? Can money tree use urea?

1. Fertilization time

When the money tree is potted, base fertilizer needs to be applied, usually in spring. After that, during its growing period, fertilizer needs to be applied 2-3 times a month to allow the plant to grow better. Fertilizer can be added once before winter to improve the plant's cold resistance so that it can survive the winter better. There is no need to apply fertilizer in winter, otherwise it will cause fertilizer damage and affect the development of the plants.

2. Fertilizer selection

The fertilizer chosen for the money tree varies depending on the period. For example, base fertilizer is mostly fermented cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer. The compound fertilizer must be a slow-release type so that it can provide nutrients continuously. When it comes to the growth period, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements need to be fully supplemented, generally using urea and potassium dihydrogen phosphate.

3. How to fertilize

The method of fertilization varies depending on the type of fertilizer. Basal fertilizer is usually solid fertilizer and needs to be buried at the bottom of the potting soil so that it can take effect slowly. Liquid fertilizer is usually added during the growing period. This fertilizer can be directly watered and is easily absorbed by the roots. If it is solid fertilizer, you need to dig up the soil and bury it, but keep it away from the roots to avoid burns.

IV. Precautions

When fertilizing the money tree, you must pay attention to the concentration. For example, the concentration of urea should be kept at around 0.2%, and the concentration of potassium dihydrogen phosphate at 0.1%. The effect will be better when the two are mixed. If the concentration is too high or a certain element exceeds the standard, it will often affect plant development. For example, too much nitrogen will cause the plant to grow too tall, affecting its appearance and may even cause it to fall over.
