Moss cultivation methods and precautions

Moss cultivation methods and precautions

Moss grows very fast and is green and pleasing to the eye. Planting it at home can add vitality to the family and also purify the air. It is very easy to grow and generally grows well in a cool and humid environment.

How to grow moss

1. Sunlight

Moss is a shade-tolerant plant that requires a certain amount of scattered light or a semi-shaded and semi-sunny environment. A truly dark environment is not suitable for moss growth, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. If the sun is exposed directly, it will easily cause the moss to turn yellow.

2. Moisture

Moss is a plant that likes a humid environment very much. It needs to be sprayed with water every day. If there is insufficient water, the moss will turn yellow and dry. It is particularly important to maintain an air humidity of more than 80% during cultivation.

3. Soil

Although moss can grow on cement boards and rocks and has strong vitality, it prefers loose and fertile soil. Leaf mold and sandy soil are conducive to the growth of moss, and slightly acidic soil with a pH value of 5-5.5 is conducive to the growth and development of moss.

4. Fertilizer

In fact, to maintain moss, you need to supplement some nutrients. You can use an appropriate amount of nutrient solution, such as Huaduoduo or potassium dihydrogen phosphate. Diluting it with water and spraying it can promote the growth of moss and make it grow stronger.

Moss maintenance precautions

1. The moss collected from the woods will grow into many weeds during the growth process. We do not need to use herbicides, but can pull them out with hands or tweezers.

2. Moss likes a warm growing environment. The most suitable temperature for growth is between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. In winter, we must move the moss indoors to avoid frostbite caused by low temperatures.
