How to propagate new bulbs of hyacinth

How to propagate new bulbs of hyacinth

1. Bulb division propagation

1. Prepare bulbs: The success rate of breeding new bulbs of hyacinth is not high, and the operation is rather troublesome and not easy to operate. Around June every year, the bulbs under the hyacinth will produce one or two small bulbs, which can be used to propagate new bulbs. Slowly dig the separated bulbs out of the soil.

2. Process the bulbs: prepare a sharp knife and cut a cross on the bulb from bottom to top. Spray the cut with medicine to disinfect and sterilize it, and then expose it to the sun.

3. Preparation: Prepare fertile and loose soil, preferably sandy soil with good air permeability and drainage, and control the temperature at around 20 degrees Celsius.

4. Cultivation and reproduction: Plant the bulbs in the soil, keep them in good sunlight, and wait for the cultivation of new bulbs.

2. Seed propagation

1. Prepare seeds: Select seeds of good quality, which should look full and substantial, not shriveled or diseased or insect-infested. Such seeds have a higher survival and germination rate.

2. Prepare the soil: Prepare suitable soil. You can use leaf mold, wood ash, and river sand to mix it. Sandy soil with good drainage can promote germination.

3. Sowing and cultivation: Choose the late autumn of each year for sowing, spray water appropriately to keep it slightly moist, then spread the seeds evenly and wait for the seeds to germinate and grow.
