1. Types of Pumpkin

Honey Pumpkin: It is a hybrid variety that matures relatively early, generally taking only ninety to one hundred days to mature. Pumpkins grown from this variety are generally larger, longer overall, and similar in shape to papayas. It usually weighs four pounds, has light-colored spots on the surface, tastes good and has high nutritional value.

Yellow Wolf Pumpkin: It is a fine variety from Shanghai. The skin is orange-red and looks like it is covered with a layer of white frost. It usually takes about one hundred and ten to one hundred and twenty days from germination to maturity. When mature, its shape is similar to a long mallet, about 45 centimeters long and 15 centimeters wide.

Big Millstone Pumpkin: It is an excellent variety from Beijing, with a flat and round shape, like a millstone. It is about thirty centimeters wide and fifteen centimeters long. The skin of a mature large grinding wheel pumpkin is brown-red with light stripes, and the surface seems to be covered with a layer of white frost, but this variety generally contains less water.

Small Millstone Pumpkin: This is an early-maturing variety, and its shape is also oblate, but it looks smaller than the large millstone pumpkin, like a small millstone. When it is not yet ripe, the color of the melon skin is green. When it is ripe, the color will turn into brown-red, and there will be obvious bumps on the surface of the melon skin.

Oxleg pumpkin: It is a late-maturing variety, with a long cylindrical shape, a wide bottom and rough flesh. This variety usually takes about 110 to 120 days to mature after planting. Its skin is relatively rough and heavy, weighing about 20 to 30 kilograms each.

Snake pumpkin: It is a medium-ripening variety with a very special shape, similar to a snake, thick at one end and thin at the other. It is usually sown in February or March in spring and can be harvested in May or June. It only takes about one hundred to one hundred and ten days to mature.

Cream pumpkin: This variety is relatively cold-resistant, drought-resistant and heat-resistant. It is easier to grow and tastes good. The disadvantage is that the output is relatively small.

Black-skinned pumpkin: The flesh of this variety of pumpkin has a great taste and high nutritional value. It has strong adaptability to the environment and is suitable for cultivation in a cool and well-ventilated environment.

Golden Pumpkin: It is a hybrid of red-skinned and Western varieties. It usually takes only eighty to eighty-five days to mature. The skin is yellow, but the flesh is red and the yield is abundant.
