When does Clivia bloom? Why doesn't it bloom?

When does Clivia bloom? Why doesn't it bloom?

1. Flowering Season

Clivia usually blooms in winter and spring, some bloom around the Spring Festival, and some bloom on New Year's Day. However, when it blooms is related to the climate and environment, and it is mostly concentrated in spring and summer. When Clivia is in bloom, the flowers open upright and are brightly colored. The flowering period is usually around 30-50 days.

2. Reasons for not blooming

1. Lack of light: Although it likes diffuse light, it cannot be deprived of light for a long time during maintenance. When there is a lack of light, the flower buds cannot grow normally, so it will not bloom. The plants need to be given appropriate light, especially in spring and autumn, and can receive as much light as possible, but remember not to be exposed to strong sunlight.

2. Lack of phosphorus fertilizer: Fertilization should be applied evenly during the maintenance process. If it lacks phosphorus, it will not bloom. It is necessary to supplement it with some compound fertilizer high in phosphorus and potassium before flowering, which can promote the formation of flower buds and facilitate its flowering.

3. Hard soil: The plant grows in a loose soil environment, the root system grows very strong, and it will bloom normally. If the soil becomes hard and airtight, the root system will grow poorly and its flowering will be affected. The soil should be changed once a year. In addition, the soil should be turned over regularly during maintenance in order to provide a loose soil environment for the plant.
