Now many friends have planted some potted garlic sprouts, which are very easy to manage. Under normal circumstances, if you grow garlic sprouts at home, they will mature in about 1-2 months. So how do you grow garlic sprouts at home? Let’s take a look with the editor below.

1. Pot soil selection

Choose a deep pot or flower box as your planting container, and make sure it has adequate drainage holes to prevent moisture from accumulating and causing root diseases. Garlic seedlings prefer loose, well-drained soil. A mixture of leaf mold, garden soil and river sand can be used as planting soil to provide sufficient nutrients and appropriate water retention.

2. Bulb selection

Choose fresh, healthy garlic bulbs. You can buy garlic bulbs at a farmers market or gardening store and choose intact, undamaged bulbs.

3. Planting method

Bury the garlic bulbs in the soil at a depth about twice the size of the bulbs, usually 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7 cm). Place the garlic bulb in the soil with the roots facing down and the cloves facing up. Keep the bulbs spaced appropriately, usually 10-15 cm apart. Fill the planting container with soil and compact it lightly to ensure that the soil around the bulb is in close contact with the roots. Water moderately after planting, keeping the soil moist but not too wet, and be careful to avoid waterlogging.

4. Sunshine temperature

Garlic sprouts prefer an environment with plenty of sunlight. When planting garlic sprouts at home, you can place them in a location with direct sunlight and receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight a day. The suitable growth temperature for garlic sprouts is 15-25℃.

5. Water and fertilizer management

When planting garlic seedlings, keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering. Monitor soil moisture and water as needed, especially in hot, dry weather. Garlic sprouts need sufficient nutrients during the growth period. You can choose organic fertilizers or water-soluble fertilizers for fertilization and apply appropriate amounts of fertilizer according to the instructions on the package.

6. Daily management

When planting garlic sprouts at home, you must cut off the vines in time. Vines will be produced during the growth process of garlic sprouts. In order to allow the plants to better distribute nutrients and energy, you can cut off the vines in time. The garlic plants should also be checked regularly. If pests and diseases are found, appropriate pesticides can be used to prevent and control them.

The above is an introduction to how to grow garlic sprouts at home. Generally speaking, the growth cycle of garlic sprouts is about 1-2 months. They are planted in the cool September and harvested in November, and then planted again.
