What is Erjingtiao?

1. What is

Erjingtiao is a kind of pepper that is a specialty of Sichuan. It is a little different from the peppers we see. The pepper corners are very slender, and there is a small "J"-shaped hook on the tip of the pepper. This pepper is bright red and very spicy, so it is a very popular pepper variety in Sichuan. Usually, it is eaten fresh, fried, or made into chili powder. It is a good seasoning. Green fruits are harvested from May to October, while red peppers are harvested from July to September.

2. Features

1. The growth of the two-thorn twig is very good, and it has many branches. The fruit strips are conical, slightly curved, and more than 40% of them have grooves at the tips. When ripe, it is dark red and has a good luster. Each pepper weighs about 5-8g. It has good heat resistance, moderate spiciness, and is very oily.

2. It is not cold-resistant and likes to grow in high temperature areas. The temperature suitable for its growth is around 21-26℃. It has good adaptability and can grow as long as the temperature does not change too much.

3. Distribution Area

It is mainly distributed in Sichuan region of my country. Due to the good yield and color of this variety, it is now also planted in other regions. However, the sales area is very wide, not only sold in Sichuan, but also in Hunan, Shandong and other places.
