How to hydroponically cultivate Selaginella

How to hydroponically cultivate Selaginella

1. Prepare the container

Before carrying out hydroponics, you must first prepare a container, preferably one with a double-layer structure, so that the roots can extend downward and ensure that there is no water leakage. It doesn't need to be too tall or too big, as long as it can allow the plant's roots to stretch out. After the container is prepared, rinse it in clean water and disinfect it to avoid the possibility of disease in the future.

2. Plant treatment

Take the plant out of the original pot slowly, then clean the root system, remove the soil on it, remove and trim the old and rotten roots to increase its ability to absorb water. Remove the leaves from the lower part of the plant and do not soak it in water, otherwise it will cause rot.

3. Water quality selection

You can get clean water from the tap, but you cannot use it directly. You can put it aside and let it sit for a while to remove the chlorine in it, which will also be beneficial to the growth of hydroponic plants.

4. Carry out hydroponics

Fill the container with standing water, then place the plant in the container so that the roots can just touch the water. Be careful not to let the water level be too high.

5. Post-maintenance

Pay attention to changing the water during maintenance. Change the water more frequently in the first few days. After a period of hydroponics, change the water every 3-5 days. It is also necessary to add nutrient solution to supplement the nutrient needs of the plants.
