Cultivation methods and precautions of pampas grass

Cultivation methods and precautions of pampas grass

1. Soil

Pampas grass does not have high requirements for soil conditions, but it can grow better in loose, fertile and well-breathable soil. When breeding, you can mix leaf mold, garden soil and river sand to make nutrient soil for its growth.

2. Lighting

It likes light, so it is best to place it outdoors in a well-lit place for cultivation, which is more conducive to its growth.

3. Temperature

It likes a warm and humid environment, but is also cold-resistant. You don't need to pay special attention to temperature control in normal times. Just make sure the temperature does not drop below 8℃ in winter.

4. Watering

Adopt the principle of watering as soon as the soil is dry. When watering, be sure to water thoroughly, but do not allow water to accumulate to avoid root rot. In winter, you can water the plants every 5-7 days, but not too much at a time to prevent frost damage.

5. Reproduction

It is mostly propagated by division. In spring, choose healthy, disease- and insect-free plants, dig out some of the underground rhizomes, bury them in loose, fertile, well-breathed soil, and then water them thoroughly. After the seedlings emerge from the soil, strengthen management and apply some thin liquid fertilizer appropriately.

6. Notes

1. Watering in winter: Water once every 5-7 days, but don’t water too much, otherwise the roots will easily rot and die.

2. Reproduction time: Avoid dividing the plant in autumn, otherwise it will easily lead to plant death.
