How to grow wild lilies

How to grow wild lilies

1. Soil

It is suitable to cultivate wild lilies in loose, well-drained alluvial soil or sandy soil, but not in clay soil. Normally, you should pay attention to loosening the soil frequently to maintain the permeability of the soil.

2. Lighting

It needs plenty of sunlight, and when growing it, it should be provided with more than 5 hours of light per day. Shading work begins around May every year to avoid prolonged direct sunlight during the summer.

3. Temperature

It has strict temperature requirements. Prefers a warm and humid environment. Its optimal growth temperature is above 15℃ and below 20℃. Temperatures below 10℃ and above 25℃ will cause poor growth of wild lilies. During the hot summer months, a shed should be erected for shade and mist spray should be applied every day to reduce the temperature.

4. Watering

The humidity of the surrounding environment is conducive to its growth. At the same time, attention should be paid to drainage during the rainy season to prevent root rot. As the plant grows, gradually increase the frequency of watering during the flowering period.

5. Fertilization

Every early spring and after transplanting, poultry and livestock manure or decomposed cake fertilizer should be applied to enable it to grow healthily.

6. Notes

1. Intertillage and weeding should be carried out 4-5 times throughout the year to increase the air permeability and looseness of the soil, which is beneficial to the growth of plants.

2. The pest and disease problems of wild lilies are mainly concentrated on black spot disease, rust disease, etc., which can be killed by carbendazim.
