How to grow rain tree

How to grow rain tree

1. Soil:

The rain tree has a strong adaptability to soil and can survive in most soils. It is suitable for cultivation in slightly acidic loam with deep soil layer and good drainage.

2. Lighting:

The rain tree is light-loving by nature and needs sufficient light during its growth period to promote the growth of the plant. If the plant receives too little light, it will grow slowly and be difficult to survive.

3. Watering:

Rain trees are drought-tolerant but not water-tolerant, so watering does not need to be too frequent to avoid water accumulation. In the early stage, water the plant once every 3-5 days, and reduce the frequency of watering in the later stage. Pay attention to watering during drought periods.

4. Fertilization:

The fertilizer applied during rain tree cultivation is mainly organic fertilizer, and nitrogen fertilizer needs to be added in the later stage. One is after flowering; the other is in late autumn, when sufficient basal fertilizer is applied to facilitate plant growth and flowering.

5. Notes:

1. Diseases: The main diseases of rain tree are rot and canker. They can cause cortical rot and, in severe cases, plant death. If the disease is found, the dead plants and branches must be removed in time, and at the same time, 70% thiophanate-methyl 100 times diluted solution and other pesticides should be sprayed for prevention and control.

2. Pests: The main pests of rain trees are the willow moth and the poplar moth, which feed on the leaves of rain trees. The harm can be effectively controlled by spraying some chemicals or using their natural enemies to protect them.
