Key points and requirements for orchid cultivation

1. Training requirements

1. Substrate requirements: Orchids are mainly divided into epiphytic orchids and terrestrial orchids. If the orchid you are cultivating is an epiphytic orchid, then you need to use a sufficiently breathable and loose planting material, which can be prepared by mixing sphagnum moss, rotten bark, stones, expanded clay, etc. If you want to grow terrestrial orchids, you need to use thick, loose culture soil, which can be mixed with leaf mold, peat soil, sandy soil, garden soil and other soils.

2. Environmental requirements: Most orchids prefer a semi-shaded, warm environment and are not tolerant to extreme environments such as high heat, confinement, extreme cold, darkness, and exposure. Therefore, when raising it, it is recommended to place it in a warm room with diffuse light and keep it ventilated.

2. Key points of training

1. Watering: Most orchids prefer moisture. Therefore, when cultivating them, you should pay attention to giving them water in time and not let their planting materials get completely wet. During the growing season, water every 2-3 days. In winter, their growth rate will slow down, so you need to reduce the frequency of watering, preferably once every 10-15 days. If the temperature is very low, you can stop watering.

2. Fertilization: They prefer fertilizer and need sufficient nutrient support to grow well. Therefore, we should also pay attention to timely topdressing during cultivation. During the growing season, apply comprehensive compound fertilizer 2-3 times a month. When the flowering period is approaching, they should be applied with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers several times to stimulate the development of flower buds and help them bloom better.
