Preparation and use of osmanthus fertilizer

Osmanthus suitable for flower fertilizer

When planting osmanthus, base fertilizer, such as manure, is used. Commonly used flower fertilizers are farmyard manure and full-element compound fertilizers. The compound fertilizers are rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and the nutrients are more balanced, which is very beneficial to its growth.

Generally speaking, it is most appropriate to use farmyard manure for osmanthus. Decomposed chicken manure, sheep manure, cow manure, and egg shells are all acceptable. Such fertilizers have relatively balanced nutrients and are purely natural. They do not cause much harm to the plants. In addition, some liquid fertilizers can be used during its growth period, which is also suitable for its growth.

Preparation method of osmanthus flower fertilizer

Eggshell fermented flower fertilizer: Crush the eggshells, put them in a bottle, add water, and soak them for 7-10 days to make flower fertilizer. Alternatively, you can crush the eggshells and mix them directly into the soil. It is a very good long-acting phosphorus fertilizer, and it has no odor.

How to use osmanthus fertilizer

1. When applying base fertilizer to osmanthus, you can mix the fertilizer directly into the soil. The amount does not need to be too much, and it does not need to be diluted. However, if you are applying liquid fertilizer to the plant, you need to dilute it appropriately. Never apply concentrated fertilizer.

2. Pay attention to the frequency of fertilizing osmanthus. Generally, fertilizer can be applied once every two weeks. If the base fertilizer in the soil is sufficient, the frequency of fertilization can be slightly reduced.

Too much osmanthus fertilizer

If too much fertilizer is used on osmanthus flowers and the flowers fall off, humic acid needs to be applied as a buffer. Increase the amount of watering to dilute the fertilizer. Later, apply humic acid together with solid fertilizer to reduce the dosage and avoid fertilizer damage. Humic acid has a repairing effect on the root system of crops and is resistant to adversity.

Precautions for fertilizing osmanthus

1. When fertilizing osmanthus, you need to be careful not to apply raw fertilizer, hot fertilizer and concentrated fertilizer. Apply thin fertilizer frequently. It is best to fertilize in the evening. When applying fertilizer, you must also be careful not to pour it on the branches and leaves to avoid burning the leaves.

2. When fertilizing, do not allow the plants to come into direct contact with the roots, otherwise the roots may be burned and die. It is best to cover the plants with more soil after fertilizing and prepare the potting soil or the ground.
