How to make dianthus bloom more

How to make dianthus bloom more

1. The soil should be fertile enough

It likes loose, fertile sandy soil, preferably with a lot of humus in the soil. If you live in mountainous areas, you can use the soil under the trees on the mountain. This soil is usually black and very nutritious. If you live in a plain area, you can use ordinary soil, add some rotten leaves, and mix it with some sand. This kind of soil is very suitable for it, and can make its branches and leaves more lush, and the flowers bigger and more numerous.

2. Water and fertilizer management should be strengthened

During its growth period, the soil should be kept moist without too much water accumulation. Once it is completely dry, water it immediately. Generally, spray it with potassium dihydrogen phosphate once every fifteen to twenty days, or sprinkle it with very dilute liquid fertilizer, or cook the bean dregs and sprinkle them in after they cool down, so that more flowers can grow.

3. Adjust the temperature in time

It is suitable for living in an environment of 13 to 22 degrees. If it is around 18 degrees, it grows most vigorously and the flowers it grows are the most beautiful. When the temperature is higher than 30 degrees, its growth will slow down and the leaves will not be as green as before. When the temperature is lower than 13 degrees, the growth will be even slower and the number of flowers will decrease.

In winter, you can place it on a well-enclosed balcony and make sure the surrounding temperature is above 13 degrees. In the hot summer, place it in a cool and ventilated area. The temperature should not be too high, otherwise it will go into hibernation. After the beginning of autumn, it starts to grow flowers. At this time, it should be placed in a bright and windy area and given appropriate shade at noon. As long as the temperature is right, not too cold in winter and not too hot in summer, it will bloom all year round.

4. Pruning after flowering should be timely

After its flowers wither, cut off its flower stems from the bottom, and new flower stems will grow again in the leaf axils.
