How to take care of the newly bought cycad

How to take care of the newly bought cycad

1. Repotting

There is no need to change the pot during the period when you just buy it. First, the current potting soil is sufficient to support the normal growth of the Cycas revoluta. Second, the Cycas revoluta is relatively fragile now, and changing the pot can easily damage the plant. But as it continues to grow, the roots and trunk will become larger, and within 2-3 years, it will need to be replaced with a more suitable pot.

2. Watering

When you just buy the Cycas revoluta, don't rush to water it. If the soil in the pot is relatively dry, you can water it appropriately. Be careful not to water it too much to cause waterlogging and root waterlogging. If the soil is moist, don't water it.

3. Lighting

Cycas revoluta likes sunlight, so you can cultivate it in the sun after buying it, but be careful that the light intensity cannot be too strong and it cannot be directly exposed to sunlight, because it is now relatively fragile and can easily be sunburned by strong light, so it needs proper shade.

4. Fertilization

Don't rush to fertilize the cycad you just bought, because it has just arrived in the new environment and has not yet adapted to it. It has a poor ability to absorb fertilizer and is prone to root burn. After it adapts to the environment, apply some dilute liquid fertilizer every half a month to promote growth.
