The difference between pomegranate flowers and trumpet creeper

1. Different varieties

Pomegranate flowers are the flowers of the deciduous shrub pomegranate tree. The pomegranate tree belongs to the Punica granatum family and the genus Punica. The trunk is gray-brown with flaking flakes on it, and the young branches are yellow-green. The height of its trees is generally around 3-4 meters, and can grow to about 5-7 meters at most, but there are some dwarf varieties.

Trumpet creeper is the flower of the climbing vine trumpet creeper, which belongs to the Bignoniaceae family. The stem is woody and the epidermis will fall off downwards, and the color is dry brown.

2. Different flowers

Pomegranate flowers are bisexual, meaning that both male and female flowers grow on the same plant. The incomplete flowers are more similar to the latter, being trumpet-shaped, while the complete flowers are gourd-shaped or tubular, orange-red in color, with 5-7 petals.

Trumpet creeper has a terminal, sparse, short panicle inflorescence with fissures on the petals. The lobes are lanceolate in shape, about 1.5 cm long, and the colors inside and outside the corolla are different.

3. Different fruits

The pomegranate tree can bear fruit, and it is edible, which is the common fruit pomegranate. It has many seeds and a lot of juice, and tastes sweet and sour.

Trumpet creeper does not have edible fruits.
