The difference between the flower of the cannon stick and the trumpet creeper

The difference between the flower of the cannon stick and the trumpet creeper

1. Different leaves

The leaves of the firecracker flower are very similar to the latter, but its leaf edges are very smooth, about 5-10 cm long, with no hair on the surface, and glands on the back of the leaves.

The edges of the leaves of Trumpet Creeper are serrated, which can be felt by touching them. They are about 3-6 cm long, 1.5-3 cm wide, and have 6-7 pairs of lateral veins.

2. Different flowers

The petals of the firecracker flower are relatively slender, and the surrounding petals are bent backwards, relatively small, and densely packed together, like a string of firecrackers.

The petals of the trumpet creeper are relatively flat and round, like small trumpets, and only a few of them grow together. If you look closely, you will find that the color on the surface is darker than the color on the back.

3. Different varieties

The former is a plant belonging to the Bignoniaceae family and the genus Pyrotrichum. It is an evergreen shrub with a very thick stem with ridges on it and longitudinal textures on the twigs.

The latter belongs to the Bignoniaceae and Campsis genus. It is a deciduous climbing shrub with a woody stem that turns dry brown when the epidermis falls off. The aerial roots on the plant can attach to the wall and climb upward along the wall.
