The difference between Cineraria and Verbena

1. Different plant types

Cineraria is a perennial herb belonging to the Asteraceae family and the Senecio genus. It has a relatively upright stem and is about 30-70 cm in height. The plant shape is taller than the latter.

Verbena is a plant of the Verbenaceae family and the Verbena genus. This plant grows in clusters, so the plant shape is relatively short, about 10-50 cm in height, and the stem is four-sided.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of Cineraria are relatively large, ranging from kidney-shaped to broad heart-shaped. The upper part may be triangular heart-shaped. The length is about 10-15 cm and the width is about 10-20 cm. The leaf surface has palm-shaped veins.

The leaves of Verbena are oblong in shape, relatively small, but appear narrower.

3. Different flowers

Cineraria is a type of chrysanthemum with obvious characteristics. It has a capitulate inflorescence with a diameter of about 3-5 cm. It has a large number of petals, and each petal is relatively thin. The flowers are mainly purple-white and blue-white.

The flower type of Verbena is different. It is a spike inflorescence. The individual flowers are relatively small, with 5 petals and a variety of flower colors.
