Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of crabapple

Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of crabapple

1. The sun is too strong

1. Reason: Begonia prefers sunlight, but cannot withstand direct sunlight. If the sunlight is too strong in the environment where it is grown, its leaves facing the sun will be sunburned and turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: Cut off the leaves on the plant that have turned yellow. Then move it to a ventilated place and wait for it to slowly recover and grow new leaves.

2. Waterlogging of the soil

1. Reason: Begonia likes a humid growing environment, but cannot withstand waterlogging. If you water the plant too much, or fail to drain the water in time after rain, allowing water to accumulate in the soil, it may damage its roots and cause yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: First take it out of the soil and cut off the rotten roots and yellow leaves with scissors. After that, prepare some new soil with good drainage and plant it in it.

3. Excessive fertilization

1. Reason: It needs fertilizer to provide nutrients for its growth. However, there is a limit to how fast it can absorb fertilizer. If you fertilize it too frequently during breeding, it will not have time to absorb the fertilizer. Excess fertilizer remaining in the soil will damage its root system, which will cause yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: If conditions permit, it is best to remove it from the pot, clean the roots, and then plant it in new soil for maintenance. If you don’t want to change the soil, you can also use water to wash away the fertilizer in the soil and then carry out maintenance.
