Cultivation methods and precautions of Ligustrum lucidum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Ligustrum lucidum

1. Soil requirements

Its root system is relatively developed and its requirements for soil are not high. It can adapt to growing in general soil. However, in order to ensure vigorous growth in the later stage, the soil should be loose, breathable and rich in humus. If it is potted, you can change the pot after a period of cultivation and provide new soil to maintain growth.

2. Light supplement

There must be sufficient light. If there is a lack of light, there will be problems with growth, causing the plant to become weak. It can be placed in a sunny place during the growing period.

3. Apply water and fertilizer

The growth of Ligustrum lucidum cannot be separated from the application of water and fertilizer. It needs to maintain good moisture during the growth period and water it thoroughly at one time. Ensure base fertilizer when repotting. Spring and autumn are the growing seasons, and cake fertilizer can be applied several times depending on the growth.

4. Regular pruning

In order to ensure the later growth, regular pruning is also needed to cut off the yellowing branches and leaves, reduce the unnecessary consumption of nutrients, and accumulate nutrients for later growth.

5. Notes

Improper maintenance may cause infection with pests and diseases, such as rust and damping-off, which will affect the growth of Ligustrum lucidum. It is necessary to pay attention to prevention and control, and spray pesticides according to the symptoms.
