1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: When planting in a pot, use rotten branches and leaves soil plus some coarse sand. The soil has good drainage, is fertile and dry, which is very suitable for the growth of pine xia.

2. Water: When growing pine needles, you don’t need to water them too much or too often. It is a dry-loving plant and the soil layer can be a little dry at normal times. Too much moisture or too much water can easily cause root rot.

3. Nutrients: You can use organic fertilizer when applying fertilizer, about once every 15 days.

4. Light: It likes to grow in dry, well-lit places, but is afraid of strong light. Usually keep it in a place with sufficient light, and when the sun is scorching at noon, move it to a shaded place.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: After one year of cultivation, the plant will grow larger and it is time to change the pot. When repotting, you need to trim the dense root system appropriately, and then transplant it into a larger pot. Be gentle when pruning so as not to accidentally damage the plant.

2. Reproduction: Songxia will grow into many plants as it grows. If the plants are crowded, the absorption of nutrients will be much slower. Reproduction by division can greatly reduce these problems. Simply cut off the crowded plants and transplant them to another pot.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Leaf spot: The most common disease during the breeding period is leaf spot. Generally, when encountering leaf spot, it can be solved by diluting chlorothalonil with water and spraying it.

2. Root rot: Pay attention to protection in normal times. Do not allow water to accumulate in the soil in the pot. Do not expose the pot to rain. Provide shade when it rains. Root rot needs to be pruned immediately, and the rotten parts should be pruned away.

IV. Other issues

1. How to spend the winter: In winter, they need to be moved indoors for breeding. The outdoor temperature is too low and will cause frostbite. Indoor breeding should be placed in a ventilated and sunny place.

2. Can it be placed indoors: It can be cultivated indoors. The appearance of the pine tree is small and interesting. It is very suitable for being placed indoors as a decoration, which is pleasing to the eye.
