Cultivation methods and precautions of purple crocus

Cultivation methods and precautions of purple crocus

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: Purple saffron is suitable for growing in sandy soil with good drainage, breathability and fertility. When preparing the soil, you can mix sawdust and leaf mold.

2. Light management: It is suitable for growing in a location with diffuse light. When entering the midsummer season, it is necessary to ensure the coolness of the breeding environment, and four hours of light a day is enough.

3. Temperature management: Purple crocus grows better in an environment of 15-25℃. The summer temperature should not exceed 30℃, and the minimum winter temperature should be above 5℃.

4. Flower pot selection: It prefers medium-sized flower pots. We can choose ones with a height of 10-15cm and a diameter of 15-20CM. The flowerpot should also have good ventilation, and a clay pot can be used for planting.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Overwintering: After entering winter, the temperature will begin to drop. In order not to hinder its growth, it is necessary to protect it from the cold, water it less and avoid wind.

2. Reproduction: Sowing can be carried out in August and September. It mainly reproduces by bulbs. You should choose some relatively healthy and full bulbs and then soak them in disinfectant. When planting, the tip of the seed should face upwards. Finally, bury it in the soil and water it. Be sure to place it in a well-ventilated place.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: After discovering that the plant shows adverse symptoms, you should consider whether it is diseased. If infected with a disease, isolation and medication should be carried out immediately.

2. Root rot: Excessive watering during the cultivation period or stuffy soil will cause root rot. Simple root pruning and disinfection should be carried out, and attention should be paid to less water in the later stage.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be raised indoors: It can be raised indoors, but you must choose a good location for maintenance. It cannot be raised in a place that is too shady, and you must ensure good ventilation.

2. How long is the flowering period: Its flowering period is around October to November. It is recommended to apply appropriate top dressing before flowering, which is conducive to better blooming of flowers.
