Cultivation methods and precautions of couple crabapple

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: The culture soil should be loose and breathable. It can be made by mixing yuba soil, peat soil and coarse sand. This kind of soil is conducive to its growth.

2. Temperature management: It is suitable for growing in an environment between 16-25℃. It also likes an environment with a large temperature difference between day and night, so when maintaining it, you should pay attention to appropriately increase the temperature difference between day and night.

3. Water management: It is drought-resistant and does not need too much water. Two or three times a week is enough, otherwise its roots will rot. There is no need to water when the soil is moist. If there is water accumulation in the pot or it is rained on, it needs to be drained in time to prevent root rot. It is best if the soil is slightly dry in winter. Spray the leaves with clean water in a small spray bottle every other week to increase humidity and keep the leaves clean.

4. Light management: Do not place it in a too dark location. It needs more sunlight, but cannot be directly exposed to too strong light. It is recommended to use sunshade nets to block part of the sunlight and open doors and windows more often in summer.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: It is resistant to pruning. Pruning in late spring is recommended. Summer and autumn are its growing seasons. Pruning in these two seasons will have an adverse effect on the development and differentiation of its branches and flower buds. Prune before summer or during the winter dormancy period. When pruning, all branches that affect growth and development, damage the tree structure, and are damaged by diseases and insects should be cut off.

2. Overwintering: It is as cold-resistant as plum blossoms. It can be placed outdoors in the south and indoors in the north to spend the winter. The temperature during the winter should not be lower than 10℃.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Root rot: mostly caused by excessive watering. It is a drought-tolerant plant and only needs to be watered two or three times a week. If root rot occurs, remove the plant from the pot, cut the roots, and then replant it.

2. Root rot: mostly caused by staying in a damp and dark environment for a long time. After the occurrence, root irrigation with bactericidal drugs should be used immediately for treatment.

IV. Other issues

1. How long is the flowering period: Its flowering period is very long. Generally, it blooms from April to June. Some bloom from February to the end of the year.

2. Can it be grown at home: It can be grown as a potted plant at home. Its colors are very bright and it is very ornamental.
