How to plant Chlorophytum comosum seeds

Seed collection and processing

First of all, when the seeds are ripe, they should be collected in time. Don’t wait until they are too ripe to collect them, which is not good. After harvesting, store them in a cool, dry place and wait for planting in early spring of the following year. However, we have to go through other processing before sowing:

Soak it in clean water at about 50 degrees Celsius, stirring constantly for about 20 minutes, then take it out and soak it in clean water for another four or five hours. Next, wrap them with wet cloth and place them in an environment of 28 to 30 degrees. When you see them turn white, you can sow them. Although these treatments may seem troublesome, they are very effective in increasing the chances of germination.

Choice of container and substrate

For containers, the main consideration is their drainage performance. For the substrate, we need to choose sandy soil that is rich in nutrients and has good drainage.

Time Selection

Generally speaking, we choose to sow in spring, when it is warmer and the seed survival rate will be correspondingly higher.

Sowing and post-production management

First, fill the container with most of the substrate, but not too full. After installation, sprinkle the seeds and cover with a thin layer of soil. Next, we need to keep all factors suitable and wait for the seeds to germinate.

Specifically, the first thing is the temperature, which is best controlled at around 25 degrees. Then there is water, which is absolutely indispensable. Also, the sunlight should not be too strong during this period.
