How to grow peonies at home

How to grow peonies at home

1. Placement

If you want to grow peonies at home, you need to place them in a brightly lit area in the living room, or on a south-facing balcony with better light. Because it prefers sunlight, it is better to grow it in places with good light for its flowering. If there is no well-lit area in your home, you will need to move it outdoors to get 1-2 days of sunlight every week.

2. Breeding methods

1. Flower soil: It likes flower soil with high nutrient content, loose soil and good drainage ability. When caring for it, it is recommended to mix six parts of garden soil, three parts of leaf mold and one part of rice husk ash as its culture soil.

2. Temperature: It likes warmth and doesn’t like heat. When maintaining it, it needs to be kept in a place between 15-25℃. When it is flowering, keep it in a place between 17-22℃. Do not let the temperature exceed 25℃ in summer, otherwise it will go dormant.

3. Watering: It does not like moisture very much, so it does not need to be watered frequently during maintenance. Just water it when the surface of the soil turns white. However, in the summer, increase the frequency of watering slightly to prevent it from becoming dehydrated.

4. Fertilization: In spring, add some liquid fertilizer to it. Apply approximately once a month. Flower fertilizer must be diluted in advance before application. Before flowering, you can spray the plant 1-2 times with phosphorus fertilizer to help it bloom.
