Maintenance of Japanese succulent Komatsu

Maintenance of Japanese succulent Komatsu

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Japanese pine grows well in sandy soil. The soil is loose, fertile and well-drained, and you can add a little base fertilizer. You can choose leaf mold, peat soil, perlite, etc. for configuration. The soil needs to be changed every year to prevent it from hardening and causing unfavorable growth.

2. Sunlight: Japanese pine needs to grow in an environment with sufficient light. The daily light exposure time should be more than 10 hours. In summer, appropriate shade can be provided to avoid water loss due to excessive sun exposure. Adequate sunlight can cause its leaves to turn red, which is a normal phenomenon.

3. Watering: As a succulent plant, Japanese pine has good drought tolerance. Therefore, do not water too much. Generally, wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. Water thoroughly, but do not let water accumulate in the pot. When the temperature is too low in winter, stop watering.

4. Fertilization: In spring, in order to make the Japanese pine bloom. You can apply appropriate fertilizer when watering to provide it with nutrients.

2. Breeding techniques

Japanese pine is usually propagated by cuttings, which are carried out in spring and autumn. Keep the temperature between 15-20℃, cut the branches of the plant and plant them in the soil. It has strong vitality and can take root quickly when the climate is suitable, but if the temperature is too high or too low, the rooting time will be delayed.

3. Pest and disease control

Japanese Komatsu has good disease resistance, and if you pay attention to daily maintenance, it is not easily attacked by pests.
