1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: Rose is suitable for growing in acidic soil rich in humus, and alkaline soil will cause it to grow poorly. At the same time, changing the soil every year will help it bloom. You can mix garden soil, leaf mold and rice husk ash in a ratio of 5:3:2.

2. Light: Rose needs sufficient light during the growing period, at least 6 hours a day. It is generally better to expose it to the sun in the early morning. The sunlight is too strong at noon and has a burning effect on its leaves.

3. Watering: When the soil is dry and white, you can water the rose. Generally, it is sufficient to water it once a day in spring and autumn, once in the morning and once in the evening in summer, and less watering is required during the dormant period in winter.

4. Fertilization: During the growing period of roses, apply light fertilizer water every ten days. Try to dilute the fertilizer before applying to avoid damaging the roots. Organic fertilizer can be applied once before winter to help it survive the winter safely. Do not apply fertilizer in winter.

2. Breeding techniques

There are many ways to propagate roses, including grafting, sowing, division, cuttings and layering. Among them, grafting and cuttings have a higher survival rate and are more common methods of reproduction.

3. Pest and disease control

There are many pests and diseases that are harmful to roses, most of which are scale insects and aphids. When pests are found, they should be removed immediately. If there are a lot of pests, wipe them off with a damp cloth. In addition, the areas infested by pests should be cut off and sprayed with imidacloprid to kill the larvae.
