The cherry producing areas in Sichuan are Maoxian, Luding in Ganzi, Hanyuan in Ya'an, Wenchuan in Aba Prefecture, Lixian and other places. These places produce a large number of cherries. Generally, the first to mature are in Hanyuan. Under normal circumstances, they are on the market from May and are gone around June. Cherries that mature earlier than this are generally not from Sichuan. These places have plenty of sunshine, and the fruits are exposed to a lot of light, so more sweetness is accumulated and the quality is so good.

2. List of Cherry Origins in China

In addition to Sichuan, domestic cherry producing areas include Jiangsu, Henan, Harbin, Shaanxi, Luoyang, Hunan, Gansu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shandong and other places. Among them, Shandong has more cherry producing areas, such as Linyi, Yantai, Qingdao and other places have cherries produced. These places mature earlier and can be put on the market early. Although Harbin has a cold climate, it also has production areas, but the output is not very high.
