How to grow Rieger Begonia in spring

How to grow Rieger Begonia in spring

1. Increase nutrients

Spring is the time when it grows most vigorously, but the nutrients in the soil are limited and it is difficult to meet its needs. If it is a mature plant, you need to control the amount of nitrogen fertilizer and apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers appropriately to promote the opening of flowers. If it is a young plant, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer needs to be increased to promote the growth and development of the young plant, and the amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers needs to be controlled. Generally speaking, two or three applications of fertilizer throughout the spring are sufficient.

2. Control the temperature

It is sensitive to temperature. If the temperature is below 10 degrees, it will stop growing; if the temperature is below 4 degrees, it will be frostbitten; if the temperature is above 30 degrees, its branches and leaves will dry out and burn. Therefore, in the process of maintaining it, it is best to keep the temperature at around 18 to 20 degrees. It is not easy to maintain it in the open field in early spring, so try to maintain it indoors at home. When the temperature is high in late spring, you can spray water on the Begonia to cool it down, or move it to a cool place for maintenance.

3. Increase watering

Before watering it, you need to observe the condition of the soil. If the soil is completely dry, you need to water it. The watering temperature should be similar to the temperature of the breeding environment. If the temperature difference is too large, it will be detrimental to its growth. When the temperature is high, watering is necessary every day.
