Where does Cistanche grow?

Where does Cistanche grow?

1. Place of growth

Cistanche is a perennial herb with fleshy and thick stems, so it can tolerate drought. It usually grows in woods near lakes or in sandy land. It parasitizes on the roots of plants such as cistanches and red willows to absorb nutrients. It is mainly distributed in northwestern regions such as Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Gansu, and its growth habits are very consistent with local climatic conditions. It is usually dug out in spring when it has just emerged from the ground or has not yet emerged from the ground. The inflorescence is removed, it is cut into sections, and then dried to make medicinal materials.

2. How to reproduce and grow

1. Time: Choose spring or autumn as the time for sowing, which is just right for its growth and the climatic conditions are very suitable.

2. Seedbed: Choose a location on the east side of the Suosuo Forest. Note that it must be wild. Dig a seedbed about 1-2 meters long and 50-80 cm deep about 50-80 cm away from it.

3. Sowing: Select the seeds and sow them on the seedbed, apply enough base fertilizer, you can use fermented organic fertilizer, such as cow dung, etc., and then cover with 30-40cm of soil.

4. Maintenance: After sowing, spray water to keep it moist. This will induce the host's roots to extend to the seedbed, and a small amount will emerge from the soil in the second year.
