When do ginkgo trees bloom?

1. Flowering time

Ginkgo trees usually bloom in spring and summer, around April. It sprouts and unfolds its leaves before blooming, and then the flowers bloom. After flowering, it takes a long time for the seeds to mature, with a gap of half a year in between. It takes until September or October for the seeds to grow and mature.

However, ginkgo trees are dioecious, and male plants do not bloom. The ones we usually see blooming are female plants.

2. Methods to promote flowering

1. Cultivation soil: The soil selected when planting is very important. If the cultivation soil is not suitable, it will grow poorly and not bloom. It is recommended to use fertile soil with strong drainage ability. You can use acidic soil or neutral soil, but never alkaline soil.

2. Light: It prefers sunlight. The light exposure time should be guaranteed during breeding, and it should be allowed to see more sunlight every day.
