How to raise Purple Moon

How to raise Purple Moon

1. Breeding environment

1. Pot and soil: The main requirement of the purple string moon plant is air permeability, so loose soil should be selected. You can use Akadama soil and peat in a ratio of four to one. When choosing a pot, in addition to good air permeability, you should also use a deeper pot. Because of its large size, there will not be enough space in a small pot.

2. Temperature: It is better to keep it in a warm range, around 25 degrees. It has poor cold resistance, so it must be protected from the cold in winter, with the temperature not lower than five degrees to ensure safety. Don't let the temperature drop below zero.

3. Light: Adequate light is of great help to its growth and will affect its color. Good light will turn it into a nice purple-red color. In summer, try to avoid strong light.

4. Watering: Water more in spring and autumn. But in summer, water should be controlled due to high temperatures. There is basically no need to water it when it is very cold in winter.

5. Fertilization: Just use a little bit of slow-release fertilizer, but the amount and concentration should not be too large.

2. Reproduction method

Purple String Moon is mainly propagated by cuttings. Because it grows very vigorously, you can just pick a section, cut it off, dry it and then use it as cuttings. It will all survive. Water the cuttings in time. They may be shriveled at first, but will become normal after a while.

3. Change the pot regularly

Repot when the soil is not suitable, either in spring or autumn. Choose suitable soil and change the flower pot. Water it slightly after changing it.
