Songmei cultivation methods and precautions

Songmei cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

The roots of Songmei are sensitive to water. If there is too much water in the soil, it will affect the root respiration and affect the growth of the plant. Therefore, when choosing planting soil, you must consider the soil's drainage performance, which must be good enough.

2. Lighting

The growth of many plants cannot be separated from sunlight, and Songmei is no exception. However, when exposing it to light, you should avoid strong light and only let it receive scattered light. In addition, the exposure time cannot exceed five hours. If the exposure time exceeds the limit, its branches and leaves will droop, which is not conducive to growth.

3. Temperature

It is not cold-resistant or heat-resistant, and the maintenance temperature needs to be kept at around 20 degrees so that it can grow well. When caring for the plant in winter, avoid open-air maintenance. If caring for it indoors, ventilate frequently to control the temperature.

4. Fertilization

It consumes a lot of fertilizer and needs to be replenished with decomposed fertilizer every two weeks. After entering the dormant period, gradually reduce the amount of fertilizer until it is completely stopped.

5. Notes

When watering in winter, the water temperature should be kept consistent with the room temperature. If the temperature difference is too large, it will affect the dormancy period of the plant and disrupt its metabolic process. Do not use tap water directly for watering. The water should be dried in the sun before it can be used for plants. The freshly drawn water contains chlorine, which is not conducive to the growth of plants, so it needs to be treated before use. In addition to tap water, rainwater or snow water can also be used.
