Cultivation methods and precautions of thornberry

Cultivation methods and precautions of thornberry

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: Using suitable soil to grow blackberries is very beneficial to the respiration and growth of the plant roots. It is best to use loose soil with good drainage, and try not to use heavy, poor soil, which is not conducive to the growth of its roots.

2. Water: During the maintenance period, the soil should always be kept slightly moist, and water should be added in time when it becomes dry. Especially in relatively dry weather, it must not be too short of water, and there must not be excess water accumulation, otherwise it will affect its flowering and fruiting.

3. Light: It prefers sunlight. When growing it, it should be kept in the sun as much as possible. If it does not see the sun for a long time, the number of flowers will be reduced.

4. Fertilizer: Apply a certain amount of fertilizer when the plants are first planted. Appropriate topdressing is needed during the growth period. Fertilization 2-3 times a year is enough. The fertilizers used are mainly nitrogen fertilizers, and a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can also be applied.

2. Precautions

After harvesting the fruits, pay attention to pruning. All densely growing, diseased and insect-infested branches should be pruned away. This is not only beneficial for plant ventilation, but also can control the overall number of branches.
