How to grow lychee in pots

How to grow lychee in pots

1. Reasonable watering

During the growth period of potted lychees, water them in time. It is recommended to water them once a week to help them sprout new shoots. You can water more after heading, but make sure there is no water accumulation in the flowerpot, otherwise the fruits will easily fall. On the contrary, it cannot be allowed to grow in a state of water shortage.

2. Growing towards the sun

During the maintenance period, it is best to place the potted plant in a place with sufficient sunlight. It will grow healthier in a sunny environment. However, the light should not be too strong, as it will accelerate the evaporation of water and affect plant pollination. During the fruiting period, more sunlight is needed to make the fruits bigger.

3. Appropriate topdressing

Usually, appropriate fertilizer should be applied before planting. You can use bean cake water or chicken manure water. The fertilizer must be decomposed before use. Appropriate top dressing can help it bloom better. Note that you must apply fertilizer in small amounts and frequently, and do not apply large amounts of concentrated fertilizer.

4. Timely pruning

Pruning can be done in any season of the year, but it is mainly done in spring from March to May, summer from July to August, and winter from December to February. Proper pruning helps the growth of new branches, mainly by cutting off dense growth, old branches, weak branches, and branches damaged by diseases and insects.
