Christmas cactus is always wilting and not blooming. Is it difficult to grow it? Learn these points and it will be easy to maintain your health!

1. Loosen the soil

The soil used for growing Christmas cactus must be loose enough. You can buy the soil directly, or you can mix leaf mold, garden soil and sand in a ratio of 4:3:3. It should be sterilized at high temperature before use to avoid bacterial infection.

2. Lighting time

It is a short-day plant, so it does not need to be exposed to sunlight for too long a day, just 6 hours of sunlight is enough. Be careful during daily maintenance. In summer, the plant should not be exposed to direct sunlight, as this will burn it. It can be placed in a place with scattered light such as the shade of trees.

3. Reasonable watering

During the growth period of the plant, the soil should always be kept slightly moist, and watered in time after the soil becomes dry. Under normal circumstances, watering can be done once every 2-3 days. In summer, you need to spray it with more water so that it can spend the summer in an environment with suitable humidity. In winter, you need to control watering, and watering once a week is fine.

4. Nutrient Supplementation

If you don't fertilize it for a long time, the plant will wilt, so you need to fertilize it once every 15 days during its growing season. Fertilization should be stopped when the temperature is high in midsummer. After entering autumn, liquid fertilizer can be applied once every 7 days.

5. Notes

When the temperature starts to drop in winter, you should prepare for anti-freeze in advance, and it is best to place it in a warm place in the house. However, don't place it too close to a heater or coal stove, and wrap it in plastic wrap when wintering outdoors.
