Green plant maintenance knowledge and methods

Green plant maintenance knowledge and methods

1. Watering

Most green plants prefer a slightly moist soil environment, but are not tolerant to waterlogging, so the amount of water must be well controlled when watering. If you find the soil is dry, you must water it to ensure that the soil is slightly moist, especially during the growing season. It must not be short of water, otherwise yellow leaves will easily appear. Not only that, green plants also have certain requirements for air humidity. If the climate is relatively dry, they not only need watering, but also need to be sprayed with water regularly to ensure a certain humidity.

2. Temperature

Green plants usually prefer a warm climate environment and have poor cold resistance. They need good temperature control during maintenance, especially paying attention to the low temperatures in winter. After winter, it is best to move it indoors for maintenance. It is best to maintain the indoor temperature above 10℃ to ensure that it remains green all year round. If the temperature is too low, it is easy to get frostbite and cause frostbite damage. In addition, ventilation should be strengthened during the high temperature period in summer, and windows should be opened for indoor maintenance.

3. Lighting

Green plants generally do not require much light, so pay attention to the light intensity during maintenance. It is best to keep it in a bright place indoors and receive diffuse light. If the light is too strong, you may get sunburned. Although green plants are shade-tolerant, they should not be placed in a dark environment for a long time during maintenance, otherwise they will not be able to carry out photosynthesis normally, which will hinder their growth and cause yellow leaves to appear.

4. Soil

When caring for green plants, you should also pay attention to the soil used. Most plants like loose, breathable, water-permeable and fertile soil. They can grow more vigorously in such a soil environment. Note that potted plants need to be repotted regularly, usually after two or three years to prevent the soil from becoming compacted, otherwise it will hinder root breathing and affect growth. In addition, green plants have certain requirements for the pH value of the soil. Some prefer acidic soil, while others prefer alkaline soil. The pH value of the soil should be adjusted according to their growth habits to promote vigorous growth.

5. Fertilization

In order to promote the vigorous growth of green plants, top dressing should be applied in time during the growing season. When applying fertilizer, you should follow the method of applying thin fertilizers frequently. Do not apply concentrated fertilizers or raw fertilizers, otherwise it will easily cause fertilizer damage. It is best to combine fertilization with watering at the same time, or dilute the fertilizer with clean water first, and then water the fertilizer solution. This way the plants can absorb the fertilizer faster, which can promote vigorous growth.
