How to deal with Clivia not blooming

How to deal with Clivia not blooming

1. Get more sun

The reason why Clivia does not bloom is probably due to lack of light. It likes light and can only grow vigorously and grow flower arrows in an environment with sufficient light. If it is placed in a cool environment for a long time, it will affect flowering. It is recommended to move it to a well-lit place as soon as possible and get more sunlight, ensuring that it receives at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. Note that it is not sun-resistant, so block strong light in time to avoid sunburn.

2. Reasonable temperature control

The flowering period of Clivia is in winter and spring, but its cold resistance is very poor. If the temperature cannot be controlled well and it is kept in an environment below 10℃ for a long time, its growth will be hindered, which will affect flowering and lead to no flowering. It is recommended to control the temperature reasonably and keep warm. Move it indoors after winter and control the temperature at around 15℃. It should not be lower than 10℃. It can bloom normally only when the temperature is suitable.

3. Timely topdressing

Clivia is a plant that likes fertilizer and has a large demand for fertilizer during its growth period. If it is not fertilized for a long time and cannot absorb nutrients, it will not bloom. It is recommended to spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer appropriately before flowering. Just spray it on the leaves after diluting it. Sufficient nutrients can promote it to open better and the flowering period will be extended.

4. Replace the soil

The reason why Clivia does not bloom may be a soil problem. The potting soil has not been replaced for a long time and has become seriously hardened. In such a soil environment, it cannot breathe normally, which will affect its growth and flowering. If this is the cause, you should change the soil and pot as soon as possible to encourage it to resume normal growth as soon as possible.
