Notes on repotting miniature coconut palms

Notes on repotting miniature coconut palms

1. Choose a good flower pot

If the roots of the miniature coconut palm are not growing much, you can continue to use the old pot. But if it has grown more roots, then you must use a new pot with larger internal space to replant it. It is recommended to choose a clay pot or a ceramic pot as the material of the new pot. These two types of pots have better air permeability, which is more conducive to the growth of its roots.

2. Choose the right soil for your flowers

When changing the pot, it is best to change the soil as well. Because after a long period of cultivation, the nutrients contained in the old soil have been absorbed by the plants. At this time, replacing it with new flower soil can help the plant grow better. Specifically, you can use flower soil made from leaf mold and river sand in a ratio of 4:1 to grow it. Because this kind of soil is not only highly fertile but also relatively breathable, it is very suitable for its growth.

3. Don’t damage the roots

When repotting it, be careful not to damage the roots of the plant. Especially when pruning the roots, be careful not to accidentally damage the healthy roots. Because once the root system is damaged, after being re-potted, its efficiency in absorbing nutrients from the soil will decrease, and the amount of nutrients absorbed will also be reduced. This is not conducive to its recovery.
