Brown spot disease of Butterbur and its control

Symptoms of brown spot disease: Brown spot disease mainly harms the leaves of the plant. The spots on the leaves are round or nearly round. Summer is the peak period of the disease.

Brown spot disease prevention and control: Remove the infected diseased and damaged plants. In the early stage of the disease, you can spray with Bordeaux mixture, once every seven to ten days, and spray several times in a row.

Leaf blight of Butterbur and its control

Symptoms of leaf blight: It mainly harms the leaves of the plant. The lesions extend inward from the leaf edge. The lesions are irregular black spots. The infected leaves will become brittle, causing partial or complete leaf dryness, and will also spread to the petiole.

Leaf blight prevention and control: remove infected dead leaves and spray Bordeaux mixture.

Aphids of Butterbur and Their Control

Aphid symptoms: Aphids will suck the sap from the stems and leaves of the plant, which can cause the stems and leaves to turn yellow in severe cases.

Aphid control: Clean the garden in winter and bury or burn dead plants and fallen leaves. Spray cypermethrin at the early stage of the disease, and spray for seven to ten days.

White blight of Butterbur and its control

Symptoms of white rot: Infected seedlings or mature plants will have water-soaked spots on the rhizomes. As the spots spread, small white sclerotia will form, which will gradually turn dark brown.

Prevention and control of white rot: Strengthen cultivation management and choose to plant in dry land; you can use carbendazim and methyl thiophanate for prevention and control.
