Pick up some of it on the roadside in autumn, throw it into the flower pot, and the flower plants will keep growing!

Autumn is not as hot as summer nor as cold as winter, so it is a good season for growing flowers. Moreover, in autumn, many flower plants have entered their growth period. If you take good care of them at this time, I believe their growth rate and number of flowers will be greatly improved. In fact, there are many small things suitable for growing flowers on the roadside. You can pick them up and use them at home for your flowers. They will all grow out of the pots!

1. Pine cones

Pine cones are the fruits of pine trees that we often see. In autumn, pine cones will slowly dry up and then fall to the ground. Don’t be fooled by the pine cones scattered everywhere. They are really effective when used as pads under flower pots to grow flowers. Because pine cones are hard in texture, they can loosen the bottom of the flowerpot and make the soil more breathable, so that the flower roots will naturally grow stronger.

When we use pine cones again, it is best to put them in a disinfectant solution for sterilization first, and then put them in the sun to dry. The sterilized pine cones will not cause any damage to the flower roots. The next step is to spread the pine cones neatly at the bottom of the flowerpot, and finally add soil, and you're done. After using pine cones, the drainage of the soil will be greatly enhanced and the root rot phenomenon will be reduced.

2. Fallen Leaves

The thing that is most abundant in autumn is probably fallen leaves. Whether you are walking on the roadside or in the community park, almost all the trees are dropping leaves. At this time, we can collect the fallen leaves and make them into leaf mold for use next spring. You know, many plants like to grow in leaf mold.

The method of making leaf mold is relatively simple. We first spread the collected fallen leaves out in the sun for a week to remove the bacteria and pests inside. The next step is to find a clean container, then add a layer of leaves and a layer of soil, and finally cover the top with soil. After placing it in place, pour water on it, cover it with plastic wrap and put it in a cool place to ferment. This way, the fermentation time will be long enough by next spring, and it will be just right for use.

3. Brick

I never thought that the inconspicuous bricks on the roadside could be used to grow flowers. Because bricks are fired, they contain a lot of iron and nutrients. Using them to grow flowers can supplement the nutrients in the growth process of flowers, so germination and flowering will not be a problem.

Bricks are used in the same way as pine cones and are placed at the bottom of the pot. When using it, we need to break it into small pieces so that it is easier to put into the flowerpot. After putting it in, cover it with soil and then use it to grow flowers. Bricks are relatively hard and can also enhance air permeability and drainage.

The three things Huahua mentioned above can be found everywhere on the roadside in autumn. Remember to pick some up next time you see them. They are very effective for growing flowers!
