The difference between black bone tea and small leaf red sandalwood

1. Differences between tree trunks

Black bone tea belongs to the shrub type. Its bark and roots are black and its wood is very hard.

Dalbergia parvifolia is a tree with a straight trunk. Its bark is dark brown and cracked into thin rectangular flakes. The sap in the trunk is dark red.

2. Leaf Difference

The leaves of black tea are very small, alternate, heart-shaped, leathery, and very dark green, and its new buds are tender red.

The small-leaf red sandalwood usually has 3 to 5 leaflets, which are generally oval or ovate in shape and about 9 to 15 cm long.

3. Flower Difference

The flowers of black tea are small, white in color, and usually grow in the axils of leaves.

The flowers of red sandalwood are yellow or have yellow stripes, and the flowering period is from November to December.
