1. Tree featuresThe philadelphus chemicarpa is a small tree with a height of about 2-6m. Its bark is gray, new branches are light green, and two-year-old branches are dark brown with relatively fine lenticels. 2. Leaf characteristicsIts leaves are between 15-30 cm long and have 7-23 leaflets. The leaflets are papery, mostly opposite, occasionally alternate, ovate, about 4-11cm long and 1.5-3.5cm wide. The lateral leaflets have no petioles, while the terminal leaflets have petioles about 2-3 cm in length. The leaf margins are serrated. 3. Flower characteristicsThe male flowers are yellow with broad ovate bracts bearing 6-8 stamens and broad ovate anthers. The female flowers have ovate bracts. |
