Black Master's cutting method

Black Master's cutting method

The succulent black magic master is a flower plant that many people like to grow. Its leaves are stacked in a lotus shape, which is very spectacular. Black Magic is an easy variety to grow. Here I will introduce to you the cutting method of Black Magic.

1. Cutting propagation

Black Magic can be sown through seeds, but the sowing speed of Black Magic seeds is very slow, and it is usually propagated by cuttings, that is, beheading cuttings.

2. Cutting time

The survival rate of Black Magic cuttings in early spring is higher than at other times. The spring climate is mild with small temperature changes, which is suitable for rooting of cuttings.

3. Prepare the substrate

Black Magic is suitable for growing in well-drained, loose and fertile soil. You can prepare leaf mold, garden soil, and vermiculite, and mix them evenly in a ratio of 5:3:2 as culture soil.

4. Choose cuttings

Pick the old leaves at the bottom from the growing Black Magic plant and use them for leaf cuttings. If it is branch cuttings, select strong, full fleshy stems as cuttings, cut them with sterilized scissors , place them in the sun to dry, and wait until the roots of the branches are in a dry state, then you can plant the cuttings in the soil to take root.

5. Reasonable lighting

When the Black Magic Master is just taken from cuttings, it actually does not need sunlight. It can be placed in a cool and ventilated environment for maintenance. However, as its roots gradually grow and new leaves and buds grow out, we need to gradually increase the light.

6. Keep the soil moist

When propagating succulent cuttings, in order to ensure root growth, the soil must be kept moist. When the soil is about to dry but not yet dry, add water to it in time. At this time, there is no need to water it thoroughly. Just water it evenly on the soil surface so that the black magic master's stem can absorb moisture from the soil.

7. Apply carbendazim to water

If you want to successfully propagate a succulent plant through cuttings, carbendazim is almost essential. It is best to apply carbendazim to the cut of the Black Magic Plant and disinfect it before use. You can also spray some carbendazim on the soil to ensure that the stem of the Black Magic Plant will not become diseased and rot during the rooting process.
