Cultivation method of maple

1. Soil

The soil requirements of the maple are relatively low, but it is suitable for growing in loam or sandy loam that is rich in organic matter, loose soil, and easy to drain, which is conducive to its healthy growth. It can be cultivated by mixing garden soil and humus soil.

2. Lighting

The maple is a light-loving plant. In spring and autumn, it needs 3-4 hours of sunlight every day to promote photosynthesis and keep the leaves green.

3. Temperature

The spherical maple can survive normally at minus 33 degrees Celsius without suffering any frost damage. However, the spherical maple is a subtropical plant and the most suitable growth temperature is 18-26 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is higher, it will grow faster.

4. Watering

The Japanese maple needs to maintain sufficient moisture during its growing period and needs to be watered in time to keep the soil in the pot moist. During the high temperatures in summer, water should be sprayed on the surface of the leaves of the Japanese maple every day.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Acer truncatum

When caring for the maple, you need to pay attention to fertilization. The maple has no specific requirements for fertilizer, but it needs to apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer once every month to provide the nutrients needed by the plant. In winter, the root system of the plant is in a semi-closed period and cannot absorb nutrients. It is not recommended to fertilize the maple at this time.
